A. I was 35 years old.
Q. How did you get into surfing?
A. I was visiting Australia from the U.S.A (Arizona/desert), when a friend let me have a go on her board. I stood up on my first attempt and was hooked. From then on, I realised that surfing’s not that easy, and I’ve been learning ever since!

A. I love my 8’6″ Bombora – shaped by Greg Brown.
Q. What do you do for work?
A. I’m a Personal Carer at “Seaviews Manor” – Aged Care facility in Ocean Grove.
Q. Do you have some best surfing moments?
A. There are a few….catching my first ‘green’ face was pretty awesome. Surfing with dolphins several times was indescribable. Managing to
“hang-5” once or twice.
Q. What’s your favourite surf location?
A. I’d have to say, most of the breaks at Wilsons Prom (National Park). It is so beautiful there and the waves are fantastic.
Q. What are the best things you like about surfing?
A. * being humbled by the ocean.
* the exercise.
* the social aspect – surfing with friends and meeting new ones.
* just being one with the ocean.
Q. Do you have any goals with your surfing?
A. I’m pretty competitive, so I always want to improve my skills, but my main goal with surfing, and in life, is to have fun and make a difference.
….Thanks Amos…….we’ll see you out there.
